IBM’s Cray-1A supercomputer is definitely an iconic machine, whereby this particular supercomputer was made known to the world in 1976, whereby the respective company weighs an astonishing 5.5 tons, which includes the refrigeration system onboard the system. Basically, the Cray-1A was the first supercomputer to run at 80MHz speed, and it comes with a gigantic memory capacity of 8MB of RAM at that time.
Nevertheless, Chris Fenton definitely loves his computers, whereby he once made a laptop for just $50 in his budget, whereby the laptop ran on the PICAXE 18X Microcontroller and 96 bytes of RAM. Well Chris Fenton is back with his modded PCs, whereby he made a scaled down version of the Cray-1A which measures 1/10 of the original size. Of course, his Cray computer also runs on a custom Cray emulator too – how cool can that be?
